SSL: Error when backing up NT share? |
| You can also remove the reference to "ssl CA certFile" in the smb.conf. Once that's commented out, samba won't complain any more. -Paul kronenpj@netzero.net | |
| I had this problem. one of the amanda-users (it might have been John Jackson) messages said to go look at samba for the solution. I spent some time searching samba's email list archives and found out the following: this ssl error message is the result of beta level code. It isn't a considered a failure of samba, but amanda definately chokes on it. Some linux distributions (ie: redhat) and binaries come with ssl compiled in. recompiling without ssl will remove this message from your backup logs. Once I recompiled samba without ssl, my problems with windows ceased. For my redhat (7.0) installation, I installed the samba source rpm, then examined the file "/usr/src/redhat/SPECS/samba.spec". I found the command line options given to the "./configure" script so I may have samba installed where I already expected it. It is not clear however, if this message will continue to occur after samba-ssl exits the beta state. In other words, I don't know if this message needs to be added to amanda's list of recognized messages. --jason jason.brooks@windriver.com | |
| When backing up NT shares via Amanda 2.4.2 and samba-client-2.0.7, I get an
E-Mail with errors for each of the NT shares saying: ? SSL: Error error setting CA cert locations: error:00000000::lib(0) :func(0) :reason(0)
Anybody have any idea if this is a bad thing or not?

| You can recompile samba without SSL support.
